Crow Valley Campground (Weld) was pretty quiet at mid-day today but it had a
few interesting things.

Highlights:
White-throated Sparrow (1 imm) FOS, with White-crowns, both spp. nipping at
the seeds heads of some type of mint
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (2)
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (1) getting sort of late
Townsend's Solitaire (2) others have had these on the plains this fall, but
FOS for me
Dark-eyed Junco (1 female Oregon) FOS for this subspecies
Hermit Thrush (1)
Townsend's Warbler (1f) getting late, don't think I've had too many in October
ever
Orange-crowned Warbler (1) in southwest corner peachleaf willow (aphids?)
Mountain Bluebird (5)
Song Sparrow (1) without water, they never seem to make it past mid-winter at
Crow Valley

Robins and solitaires were in Russian-olives. Elm leaf beetles seem to have
gone to bed for the winter, so action in Siberian elm greatly reduced. Barn
Swallows gone from Briggsdale.

Four mammals: fox squirrel (eating Russian-olives, also eating cottonwood
buds), 13-lined ground-squirrel, black-tailed jack rabbit, pronghorn (small
group of 14 out north)

Misses: golden-crowned kinglet, Cassin's kingbird, red-breasted nuthatch,
sandhill cranes, accipiter, red fox sparrow?, golden-crowned sparrow?
