Hi all,

I photographed another Blue-headed Vireo, it was west of the Valco Ponds
parking lot, below Pueblo Reservoir dam this morning.  Photo can be seen at

Other birds of note this morning at Valco Ponds, was an immature White-throated
Sparrow, a Chimney Swift, a Northern Rough-winged Swallow, a Blue Grosbeak, and
a flock of Sandhill Cranes that flew over.

Yesterday's birding trip around Valco Ponds in Pueblo found a latest
Yellow-breasted Chat, a Red-naped Sapsucker, and some Violet-green Swallows.

There were a lot more birds around today, with the overcast conditions.  There
was a large flock of Yellow-rumped Warblers around today, which didn't seem to
have anything else with them.

On Friday, I saw an interesting sparrow in Rock Canyon, below Pueblo Reservoir
dam.  It looked like a Chipping Sparrow, except it had a bright white throat
like a White-throated Sparrow.  I don't know if it was a hybrid or not, and I
wasn't able to get any clear photos.  It was interesting looking for sure, and
it was with a flock of Chipping Sparrows.  Today's White-throated Sparrow was
with a flock of White-crowned Sparrows, and wasn't the same bird as the odd
sparrow seen on Friday.

Good birding,

Brandon Percival
