I stopped by Timnath today and had a very nice plovery morning.

12+ Black-bellied Plovers
2 American Golden-Plovers
2 Semipalmated Plovers
innumerable Killdeer

I also had Pectoral, Least, Semipalmated, and Bairds Sandpipers, and
hundreds and hundreds of Dowitchers. I actually didn't spot any that I
felt comfortable calling Short-billed, and I only heard Long-billed
noises but I'll probably go out there tomorrow morning and try again.
(I also couldn't find the Dunlin, but with all the shorebirds around
it felt like it should still be there.)

I also had 17 calling flyover Sandhill Cranes, a couple dozen American
Pipits (no Spragues - had to check), a Red-tailed Hawk, 2 Northern
Harriers and a Prairie Falcon. Numerous Northern Pintail, Gadwall,
Scaup, and Green-winged Teal are also on the reservoir now. Plenty of
gulls, but nothing suspicious-looking.

Lastly, there is a good concentration of birds again along the wet
areas of the mudflat right by the county road where the embayment has
dried up. I found dozens of dowitchers there posed nicely for close
viewing as well as a couple of the Black-bellied Plovers.

Back at my house in the afternoon, I had a new yard bird - a first
fall Blue Grosbeak. Which basically means it's a "Brown Grosbeak".
