Join us for our monthly bird walk at Garden of the Gods this Saturday 10/17 at 8 AM in the Visitor Center parking lot on N 30th Street in Colorado Springs. All ability levels are welcome with beginners especially encouraged. I will (hopefully) answer all your bird questions on identification, behavior, birding optics and other birding equipment. And hopefully, show you some birds! We will check the Visitor Center hillside then carpool up into the park to see what else we can find. American Tree Sparrows are back and Townsend's Solitaires and different races of Junco are likely. Dress for the weather with comfortable walking shoes and bring water, a snack, and binoculars, if you have them. Loaner binoculars will NOT be available as the Visitor Center doesn't open until 9 AM. FYI: We are expecting a small group of cub scouts working on a nature badge and the park is celebrating their 100th anniversary with a parade at 9 AM and a rededication of the Perkins plaque at 10 AM.
