Hello, Birders. With Chip Clouse, Chris Wood, and 7 of Chris's colleagues on the ABA Board of Directors, I had a nice walk along the Platte River in Adams County earlier today, Sunday, Oct. 18th. We birded for about a mile in either direction of the parking area off 74th Street. Here's what we came up with: 10+ Wood Ducks, 4 tardy Blue-winged Teal, 1 Prairie Merlin, 1 Merlin not ID'd to subspecies, 1 Prairie Falcon, 1 tardy Spotted Sandpiper, 58 Long-billed Dowitchers, 4 Wilson's Snipes, 3 Franklin's Gulls, 1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet, 1 Mountain Bluebird, 5 American Pipits, 2 Orange-crowned Warblers, 3 Myrtle Warblers, 32 Audubon's Warblers, 5 Yellow-rumped Warblers not ID'd to subspecies, 1 Green-tailed Towhee, and lingering Chipping Sparrow. -------------------------------
