Hi Cobirders I went to the southwest side of Marston off So.
Wadsworth from 3:30 to 4PM. I found the Arctic Loon
in good light about 2/3rd the way across the south section of Marston
with 60 power in my telescope. It was mostly
up and floating high enough to show white all along the flanks and
the triangle patch extended above toward the
rear. There was a lot of white on the face and extensive white on
the front of the neck, Bill was light grey in good light.
I watched it for ten minutes.
There was 2 pair of Hooded Mergansers , pair of Common Goldeneyes,
small flock of Ruddy Ducks and a few Western
Grebes. All on the west in the water near the shore. There were
gulls at the north west shore but I did not study them.
I guess I will have to try mornings for the swans and other loons.
from the Bow-Mar side.
