COBirders,

Late this evening a buddy of mine and I stopped by Big Johnson reservoir to
check out the gulls. Brad Steger had seen a couple of thousand gulls there
last night so I thought it might be worth checking them out as he was not able
to in his short time there.

Unfortunately, we arrived a little later than planned so did not have as much
time with good light to really work the birds on the reservoir. Nonetheless,
we were still able to find the following:

6 Loons (3 were Common and the other 3 also appeared to be but conditions
prevented positive IDs)

2000+ Ring-billed Gulls
California Gulls
Herring Gulls
1 Franklin's Gull

1 MEW GULL (adult)
1 possible GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL (2nd yr bird, again, conditions prevented
positive ID)
