This is the final reminder that the Delta CBC starts at 8 am this Saturday,
December 19, at the City Market parking lot in Delta. Look for a dark green
Chevy pickup with a dark green canopy. I will be there early since an earlier
version of this said 0730. Bring binoculars, bird books, lunch and drinks,
something to write with, maybe a camera with telephoto and/or a spotting scope,
and warm clothes. We will divide up into groups with experienced group
leaders, number of such depending on how many show.
The count week starts tomorrow! I will be on the river in the morning,
watching for a Barrow's in amongst the other ducks and trying valiantly to ID
wrens in the streamside brush. If you are out and about, keep your eyes open
for rarities (like, say, bar-headed geese or maybe a stray gyrfalcon).

The map should print at decent resolution (150 dpi) at 8.5 x 11 inches. It is
a reasonably large file (1.8mb) so be patient. I can, if anyone wants, do the
same with the upcoming Hotchkiss map as well.
Remember, official participation in the count is $5 if you are 18 or over. I
will have the above maps plus a few closeups, bird lists for keeping track, a
signin sheet, and probably some donuts Saturday morning!
I don't have an evening gathering arranged like some other counts, since I
don't know of a good place to do it in Delta (my house is in Paonia), but will
have a place picked so data can be dropped off before we start on Saturday.
