The winter wren was skulking about in the tangles northwest of the bridge over the St. Vrain at 63rd St just before noon today. I lost count, but I think this was my 12th attempt to catch sight of this bird. I got fairly good looks at it, but much too brief to add anything to the ID discussion. It did not call or sing.
