Hi:
Our family is visiting Summit Co. Colorado for the New Year Holiday.
My family will be skiing and I would like to go birding. We will be
staying at Copper Mountain and will not have a vehicle available. I will
not have a vehicle because as flat landers from sunny warm Texas, we
don't have a clue as to how to drive in snow on mountains. I would like
to bird but I don't want to risk my sanity or life to do so!
We are taking a bus service from the Denver Airport to Copper Mountain,
and I will have access to the Summit Co. shuttle around the area,
perhaps I could meet up with someone along that route perhaps in Frisco
or another stop on the route. I don't think that they will let me off
at the Dillon reservoir but perhaps I could meet another birder at one
of the stops to catch a ride to the reservoir.
The best days for me are either Jan. 2 or Jan. 3 as we have other
family activities schedule for the rest of our stay at Copper Mountain.
I am from the Houston, TX area and I am mainly a back yard birder
although I try to get in a bit of time birding whenever we go on
vacation. I will pay for guiding, pay for gas or make a donation to
your birding society. I have snow shoed a little but will have to
borrow or purchase snow shoes as the resort we are staying in does not
have them to rent. I am a 50 +, slightly out of shape female, so I am
not able to take a strenuous birding hike.
If anyone is interested in guiding me, please respond to this email.
I you know of anyone in the Summit Co. area who might be interested,
please pass my email on to them.
Thanks,
Susan
