A Northern Pygmy-Owl posed for photos mid-morning on Sunday (yesterday) in
lower Rist Canyon, about a mile below Whale Rock Rd., west of Bellvue, Larimer
County. Photos may be viewed at http://www.pbase.com/quetzal/nopo12272009. At
one point, in response to a distantly calling chickadee, it raised its tufts,
mimicking a screech-owl. The raised tufts were captured in the photographs.
