It is a new year and the Boulder Bird Club is offering some fun trips to get your year lists started off right. The biggest bird walk in the country(know any bigger?) starts Saturday at Noon at the Valmont XCel plant. If you are unfamiliar with this walk, you really should try it and see why around 150 souls brave the cold every year. It is a lot of fun to walk around the three lakes and the landforms around the gigantic generating facility. There are plenty of gulls and waterfowl that come in for the heated water and safety of numbers the area provides. Please visit our website to read Ted Floyd's excellent article on winter gulls in our online newsletter. There you will find a calendar with our other trips on it as well. On the 24th of Jan. we have a Raptor auto tour leaving Lagerman Reservoir at 10 AM to 3 PM with leader Jim McKee and Sue Cass. Remember, all are encouraged to come on our ventures and good birding to all.
