Hi all,

A small group of DFO members (Mary Cay Burger, Melissa Smith, Lois Levinson,
and Mary Keithler) conducted a raptor survey at Cherry Creek State Park
today. Raptor-wise, our most interesting sighting was 7 bald eagles on the
ice best viewed from the East Boat Launch area. Also visible from this spot
were 6 American white pelicans, a first of the season viewing for all of
us. Another first of the season viewing was a greater yellowlegs, which was
on the north side of the pond located on the north side of the main road
near the model airplane field. It was the first shorebird we had seen this
season other than kildeer.
