This evening Michelle and I saw a Broad-winged Hawk at Lee Martinez
Park perched in a stringer of cotton wood and crack willow trees along
the Poudre River.
While walking back we heard an Eastern Screech-Owl song and then saw
it fly across the trail and perch near a small wetland foraging for
what I suspect were crayfish. This little beast had some brownish/
redish color in it. The EASO then flew to a cavity looked in and
after a few seconds flew off to another perch. We then saw some
movement in the cavity, probably a pair setting up a nest.
