Folks, First, I apologize for the late post, I haven't had access to a computer for a couple days.
This Saturday the 6th while rock climbing at North Table Mountain in Golden, a large, pale falcon cruised over the cliff that I was clinging to and flew off to the west. I got just a brief glimpse, and based on size and overall light coloration, my first thought was of a Ferruginous Hawk (which I have seen there before), but as it flew away from me, I realized from the powerful, fast, shallow wing beats that it was a falcon. It made one more pass very close to the cliff, and I got a good look at the broad, barrel-shaped chest with light streaking and noted the lack of dark axillaries.
