Yesterday I posted a picture and asked for help identifying it. 90% of the responders have said it was a female red winged blackbird. I have put together a collage of female red wing blackbird pictures and it is easy to see the differences in bill and skull shape between yesterday's post (which is in the upper left hand corner of the collage)and three other pictures of female red wing blackbirds.
These differences in appearance seem large and I would appreciate any comments as to how the same species could vary so much, unless the bird in yesterdays post is a juvenile as one comment suggested.
