After shoveling out from under a foot of snow, I took a drive to Red Rocks near Morrison and then Bear Creek Lake Park. I scattered some seed in the garden area to the west of the Red Rocks Trading Post. Within 10 minutes the Golden-crowned Sparrow (looking more golden on the crown) appeared along with the regulars - Western Scrub-Jay, Black- capped Chickadee, Spotted Towhee, Song Sparrow, House Finch, and a variety of Juncos.
