This morning my wife and I had ~35 Gunnison Sage-Grouse at the Waunita Lek. We then headed up to Guanella Pass and were able to find around 25 White-tailed Ptarmigan on the NE side of the hill off of Rosalie Trail, most were hunkered under the firs, but a few were out eating the willow buds. On the hike down we found a female Three-toed Woodpecker near the parking area where the road is unplowed. We ended the day by picking up the Golden-crowned Sparrow at Red Rocks and found an American Dipper on the Santa Fe River just south of Chatfield State Park. All in all I had a great 28th birthday with five new lifers.
