Hi Everyone--

Marcia Marvin and I went up to see the White-winged Crossbill family in Fort
Collins. It was a very nice visit (male on the ground, female slurping on
maple sap and coming into a bush 20 feet away). On our way home, we stopped
at Windsor Reservoir. From WCR 78, we scoped south and saw only Ring-billed
Gulls, but there was a large group on a spit that was too engulfed in heat
shimmer to do anything with. From WCR 17.75, we scoped north. I picked out
an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull in the middle of the lake. We saw no
white-winged gulls or Thayers. I don't know where else to scope from. The
picnic areas look like private property.

A male Red-breasted Merganser and two Horned Grebes in mostly breeding
plumage were at the south end of the reservoir. A Harlan's Red-tail was on a
power pole on CO-257 just south of WCR 80.5.
