COBirders, Nick Moore, Brad Steger, and I found a male Eurasian Wigeon at Turk's Pond in Baca County today. We also had a want-to-be Eurasian Wigeon at Thurston but it is a Eurasian X American Wigeon. Possibly a backcross with Eurasian.
Other birds of interest today were two ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, a HORNED GREBE, 50ish LARK BUNTINGS, hundreds of MCCOWN'S LONGSPURs, a few CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONSPURS all in Baca county. A SWAINSON'S HAWK and BURROWING OWL in Bent county. Lots of birds at bodies of water and other than the migrant field birds, the land-birding seemed slow, not to our surprise. Good birding. ----- Mark Peterson Colorado Springs -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
