David Chartier and I birded Valco Ponds in Pueblo and the State Wildlife Area
on the North West side of Pueblo Reservoir this morning.
* - first of the spring for me
Valco Ponds:
Osprey - 2
*Cinnamon Teal - 1 male, 1 female
Tree Swallow - 150+
*Barn Swallow - 25
*Bank Swallow - 5
*Cliff Swallow - 1
[Looked for Violet-green and Northern Rough-winged Swallows and didn't see any]
*EASTERN PHOEBE - 1
Black Phoebe - 1 (there have been two around, so, maybe they are on a nest now)
Turkey Vultures
Common Grackles
Pueblo Reservoir SWA:
Osprey - 6
*Franklin's Gull - 6
Common Loon - 1 basic plumaged bird
Horned Grebe - 1 alternate plumaged bird
Clark's Grebes
American White Pelicans
