A few days ago I reported infected white rats being released at
Walden. This morning the news was good. The guy I reported the
incident to took immediate action, contacted the owner, & then helped
her capture the rats. We're lucky to have such good people in the
Open Space Department!
Also this morning Paula Hansley & I saw several firsts of the season
for us: a large mixed flock of swallows--tree, violet-green, & barn
and a Say's Phoebe on the Sawhill portion. Also saw a bald eagle,
mating great blue herons at the heronry, a great horned owl, and the
usual assortment of ducks.
