Here is my bird report from CU's Commencement for today, 5/7/10.

Before the ceremony, several Turkey Vultures flew over-I'm sure this had
something to do with trying to catch a thermal off the crowd in the
stands, and was not a comment about the job prospects of graduates. A
pair of courting Common Ravens was also cavorting above Folsom Field.

Several Pine Siskins were singing around campus joining resident House
Finches, but still no Violet-green Swallows.

The only real migrants I observed included a single round of song from a
Yellow Warbler along Boulder Creek as the faculty waited up on the hill
to process in, and a few Broad-tailed Hummingbirds that zipped by having
discovered that all of the bright colors on display were not flowers.
