On Lake Dillon shore this evening (Dillon side): Common Snipe (1) It ate some mealworms I threw-down.
No camera; when I looked at the bird head-on, with sun in my eyes, the bird appeared to have a buff-orange hue to its breast, exactly the color as seen in Birds of North America; but I think I gotta go with Snipe.
