After processing my photos of the "Baltimore" Oriole at Crow Valley today, I think it is clear the bird has some Bullock's Oriole in it. The scapulars are bright white and they should be orange in a "pure" Baltimore. The bird also had a band of pale orange that went up from the side of the neck, behind the all-black head, almost to the crown. At the time I thought this was just incomplete molt, but now wonder if that's yet another clue to mixed lineage. Interesting and beautiful creature, nonetheless.
