Monday, May 10 at Saint Vrain State Park -- Weld County near Longmont -- just
off I-25 exit 240. I spent the morning walking the ponds -- so got good looks.
This place is not very bucolic and the freeway noise can be frustrating -- but
I'm rarely disappointed when I walk the ponds and St. Vrain River.

Semipalmated Sandpiper -- 5 pair

On the west side of the park (protected and off-limits), there is a nesting
pair of Osprey (at the usual perch) and the protected nesting area for Heron
and Egret is filled. Binoculars reveal an impressive array of birds and nests.

Monday May 10 at Walden Ponds -- Boulder County Open Space -- 75th and Jay
Road. I arrived mid-day -- the wind came up and it showered -- and my day was
cut short as I only walked the first pond. When the winds came up, the
swallows were out in force.
