The adult COMMON BLACK-HAWK that Lisa Edwards and Kara Lewantowicz found at the
Fountain Creek Regional Park Nature Center this afternoon, near the pond in the
large cottonwood trees, was still present as of 620pm. If people really want
to see this bird, it might be a good idea be looking for it early tomorrow
morning around the pond. The bird was seen by quite a few birders, thanks to
Lisa and Kara for letting the word out right away. Some photos were taken,
hopefully photographers and birders will not flush the bird to get better
photos. If it isn't bothered maybe it will stick around for more people to
enjoy. This is a major rare bird in Colorado, that a lot of people would
probably like to see. The species isn't that easy to see in their normal
United States locations of Arizona, Texas, New Mexico. It was a life bird for
several people that got to see it today.
