In weather spanning rain, snow, cold wind, and bright sunshine, Paul Slingsby, Dave Fletcher, Wendy Sydow and I birded North Park from Friday, May 14, through today. Here are highlights.

On the left side of the road, we spotted a nest platform atop a utility pole. Though the platform appeared designed for a raptor, we saw a raven walking to the edge of the platform. From the edge of the platform, the raven slipped beneath it into the sheltered comfort of its nest. Though easily mistaken for a platform, any raven could clearly see the wooden disk was a roof. West of Walden, May 17 Sora 1 Dusky Flycatcher 1 Common Yellowthroat 1 singing Green-tailed Towhee 1 Cowdrey Reservoir, May 17 White-faced Ibis 18 Common Yellowthroat 1 male Chuck Hundertmark 2546 Lake Meadow Drive Lafayette, CO 80026 Phone/fax: 303-604-0531 Cell: 720-771-8659 [email protected] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
