Gunnison County had the Kebler Pass Road (the shortcut to Crested Butte from
the west) open at 5 pm yesterday. For those who may be considering summer
recreation in this area, the Lost Lake campground on the Paonia Ranger District
will be closed for construction this summer. Irwin will be open and there are
many dispersed campsites.
Forest Road 265 (the Collbran road) is now open between Highway 133 (McClure
Pass) and Collbran. Watch for moose.
The Stevens Gulch Road north of Paonia remains closed from Windy Point to
Hubbard Park due to road conditions, but should open within a week. The road
north of Hubbard Park is open, so you can access Electric Mountain Lodge.
