Paddled for bit on Friday, before the wind came up and it got choppy.
Decided to do a bit of birding. The woods just east of Muskrat
Meadows was full of birds. Watched a Wester Wood-Peewee pair work
bugs over the creek. Got a couple of shots. As usual, there were
Wrens everywhere! Then, a flash of blue - a male Blue Grosbeak! My
first ever. Been trying all season. Wow, what a gorgeous bird. He
stayed up in a Cottonwood, but I managed a couple of shots. Pretty
highly cropped image, but it's there to see at:

Man, the woods were full of Grosbeaks. Several Black-headed pairs.
Also some Bullocks Orioles, but the trees are getting leafy enough
where it's hard to get photos of them.
