Folks,

Yesterday, Loch and I birded Chatfield in the rain and cold hoping for some 
rare birds.  We did not find any rare birds but we did see something rare.  
Several Western Kingbirds, drenched from 2 days of rain, were pulling 
earthworms (I'm sure Dave Leatherman has a better name for them) from the 
ground.  Their matted feathers gave us looks at their bright red crown stripes. 
 Though we could easily see this in all 5 kingbirds one in particular was quite 
distinct.  The photos aren't great due to the lack of light, but you can see 
this cool looking Western Kingbird at the link below.
