Good moring to all!

The Wild Bird Center of Colorado Springs held its monthly bird walk yesterday
morning, Saturday June 12. There were six of us and we went to Clear Springs
Ranch where it was cool, cloudy and windy (but no rain). We didn’t expect to
see too much because of the weather but were pleasantly surprised. The best
birds were a Great Horned Owl which flushed after being harassed by Blue Jays,
Red-winged Blackbirds and Grackles; a pair of Yellow Warblers; and a Wood
Thrush. We also enjoyed watching Western Kingbirds, Eastern Kingbirds,
Red-winged Blackbirds and Starlings “hawking” in the open fields.

Here is the full list of birds seen:

Red-winged Blackbirds
Common Grackle
European Starling
Yellow Warblers
Killdeer
Great Horned Owl
Red-tailed Hawk
Merlin
Kestrel
Gulls (not further identified, seen flying north)
House Wren - a pair busy at one of the next boxes

Yellow Warbler
Brown-headed Blackbird
Black-capped Chickadee

 Happy birding!
