Observation date: 7/2/10 morning 08:00-12:00
Notes: 27 species, 137 individuals

Broad-tailed Hummingbird 4
Williamson's Sapsucker 4 One female flew fifty feet away into top of
twenty-foot snag. She drummed for two minutes and flew off.
Northern Flicker (Red-shafted) 3
Cordilleran Flycatcher 8
Black-billed Magpie 10
American Crow 6
Violet-green Swallow 10 Nesting in cavity in Douglas-fir at 20 feet in
30-foot tree that is 150 yards west of flagpole atop Genesee Mountain.

White-breasted Nuthatch (Interior West) 1
Pygmy Nuthatch 20
House Wren 5 Nesting and bringing food into cavity in Ponderosa Pine
at 2 (two) feet above ground in tree that is 50 yards south of
flagpole atop Genesee Mountain.
Western Bluebird 14 Adult male and Adult female feeding young June 30.
On July 2 saw two juv fledged from cavity in same area. Area is
parking lot across from group picnic in Life Tree at seven feet in
height.
Hermit Thrush (Western mountains) 3 Three individuals were singing
within a one-mile range of each other at 11:00 am. One sang
continuously 200 yards north of flagpole 07/02/10 while I scounted
before field trip (from when I arrived at 6:45 am until ending at 7:30
am). Resumed singing around 11:00 am.
