Saturday, September 18 Rocky Mountain National Park
Leader: Chris Owens, (303) 722-6048.
Enjoy the late-summer splendor of the Park while searching for lingering
passerines, jays, raptors, perhaps a Dipper or two, and the always thrilling
rarity! Meet Chris at 0800 at the Beaver Meadows Visitors' Center parking
lot for a lovely day of birding alongside friends from the Boulder Bird Club.
Bring lunch and plenty of water; scopes optional. Trip will wrap up at
about 1400.
Sunday, September 19 Lair o' the Bear Park
Leader: Niña Routh, (303) 987-8687.
Come explore this popular trail and find out what birds are lingering into
summer's bittersweet fade. Half-day trip, 0800-1200, easy hiking; bring
water and snacks, and layers for unpredictable weather. This is a
space-limited trip; you must register with Niña in advance.
Saturday, September 25 Rocky Mountain Arsenal
Leader: Dave Rhoades, (303) 424-8633.
Time of trip: 0800-1300. Meet leader at the Visitors' Center for a guided
exploration of this premier bird habitat. Bring water and snacks but
lunch is optional. You must register with Dave in advance as this is a
space-limited trip.
Sunday, September 26 Pueblo area and Fountain Creek
Leader: Paul Slingsby, (303) 422-3728.
Meet leader at 0700 at the SE corner of the parking lot by The Great
Indoors, Yosemite St. at C-470: from I-25 exit County Line Rd. and go west to
Yosemite, turn left (south) and follow Yosemite as it curves around to the last
right-hand turn before C-470. Full day trip, easy hiking. Bring lunch,
water, scope, and two-way radios if you have them. Please be sure to
register with Paul beforehand.
