Arapahoe County:
--A Palm Warbler was reported by Brown at Cherry Creek State Park on September 
17.  The bird was seen on the east side of the Lake Loop by the bike Trail.

Boulder County:
--A juv American Golden-Plover was reported by Floyd at the northwest corner of 
Boulder Reservoir on September 11 and was seen as recently as September 13 by 
Gent.
--A Magnolia Warbler (first-fall male) was reported by Boswell on the east side 
of Sanitas Green Belt on September 11.  Directions: go west on Maxwell in to 
the hospital grounds, follow the driveway on the west side of the power plant 
(chimney) up to the parking lot.  Go out the north end of the parking lot , 
turn left on the trail.  The bird was in the shrubs along the irrigation ditch 
before the trail crosses the wooden bridge.  The fenced area is closed Open 
Space; south of the bridge is open Open Space.  
--A juv. Sabine's Gull was reported by Gent at Boulder Reservoir on September 
11.
--The Pacific Loon first reported by Blatchley on July 10 at MacIntosh Lake, 
was seen as recently as September 17 by Guarente.  The bird was seen from the 
south side, midway along the lake and close to shore.   

Custer County:
A possible PURPLE FINCH was reported by Bright at his feeders.  Please contact 
Leon Bright ([email protected] for more information and/or photos. 
  
El Paso County:
--A Lesser Black-backed Gull (alternate plumage) was reported by Peterson at 
Big Johnson Reservoir on September 15 and was seen by Kosar on September 18.
--A CAPE MAY WARBLER (male hatch year) was banded by Gibbons at the Chico Basin 
Ranch banding station on September 13.  The banding station demo area is free 
but there is a fee to bird Chico Basin Ranch.
----A PARASITIC  JAEGER and a Caspian Tern were reported by Drummond at Big 
Johnson Reservoir on September 11.
 
Huerfano County:
--A Juv Sabine's Gull was reported by Neldner at the east end of Martin Lake on 
September 12.                        
 
Jefferson/Douglas County:
--An adult Lesser Black-backed Gull (alternate plumage) and a juv. Sabine's 
Gull were reported by Walbek at Chatfield Reservoir on September 16.

Larimer County:
--A BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER (female) was reported by Sparks along the Poudre River 
bike trail on September 17.  The bird was seen about 100 feet from the Lee 
MARTINEZ park parking lot (once you get to the bike trail, about 20 feet east 
on the north side.

--A Great Crested Flycatcher was reported by Leatherman at Grandview Cemetery 
in Ft. Collins on September 12.  The bird was seen in the extreme southeast 
corner over the picnic table south of the Shop Building (just north across the 
ditch from the pump house).

Ouray County:
--A Tennessee Warbler was banded by Coates at the Ridgeway Banding Station on 
September 15. 
 
Pueblo County:
--A Magnolia Warbler (female hatch year) was reported by Drummond at Chico 
Basin Ranch Rose Pond (fee area) on September 15.
--A Short-billed Dowitcher was report red by Gibbons at the Headquarters Ponds 
at Chico Basin Ranch (fee area) on September 13 and again by Drummond on 
September 15. 

Washington County:
--A BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER was reported by Kellner at the Prewitt Reservoir inlet 
canal on September 17.
--A Bell's Vireo was reported by Kellner at the Last Chance Rest Area on 
September 17.

The DFO field trip for Sunday, September 19 is to Lair o' the Bear Park and is 
led by Niña Routh, (303)987-8687. Come explore this popular trail and find out 
what birds are lingering into summer's bittersweet fade. Half-day trip, 
0800-1200, easy hiking; bring water and snacks, and layers for weather. This is 
a space-limited trip; you must register with Niña in advance.
