COBirders, Join The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and Colorado Field Ornithologists (CFO) for a special field trip to the Fox Ranch, Yuma County, Friday-Saturday, October 8th-9th 2010. Co-leaders are Bill Maynard and Mark Peterson.
This trip is free and open to the public, but RSVP (by e-mail only) is required to participate. The Fox Ranch is privately owned and operated, and it is a working cattle ranch. Therefore, participants should expect certain restrictions on access, routes, etc. In particular, arrival times (either Friday evening or early Saturday morning; see below) will have to be tightly regulated. The outing will require several miles of walking through hilly habitats characterized by poison ivy, biting insects, and rocky terrain. Participants will have the following two options: (1) primitive camping at the ranch on Friday evening; (2) lodging on your own Friday evening in the Idalia/Bonny area, then get to the ranch early Saturday morning. Details on both options will be e-mailed to participants following e-RSVP for the outing. To register for the trip, please respond to this post directly ([email protected]). Limit 15 participants. Participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis. You will be required to sign a waiver. ----- Mark Peterson Colorado Springs -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
