Blustery day along Raptor Alley ... most birds were grounded.

Raptor Alley (wind and raptors not a good combo; only ONE sitting on
the three sets of power lines)
Red-tailed Hawk - 9
Ferruginous Hawk - 2
Merlin
Sharp-shinned Hawk (rare; eating prey alongside road)
American Kestrel - 2
Northern Harrier - 3
Golden Eagle - 2

WCR 104/Hwy 85
Lapland Longspur - 1 (in one of Nunn's two recent burn areas-this the
larger one; hanging out with two large flocks of Horned Larks)

Just a reminder we have three new Mountain Plover habitats for next
spring/summer:

WCR 51/Hwy 90 - HUGE burn area
WCR 37/WCR 98 - large burn area (p dog colony included; dogs still
there)
WCR 102/Hwy 85

Thanks
Gary Lefko, Nunn
