There were a lot of birds to look this morning in Pueblo City Park in Pueblo. Northwest of the big pond, near the skateboard area in City Park was the best location. Two surprises turned up, a female SUMMER TANAGER and a female YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER. Other species present were 10-12 Pygmy Nuthatches, Mountain Chickadee, White-breasted Nuthatch, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Brown Creeper, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Orange-crowned Warbler, Cedar Waxwing, Downy Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, and American Robin. Photos of the tanager, sapsucker, and Pygmy Nuthatch can be seen on my flickr site.
