At Clear Springs Ranch Saturday morning we banded a Swamp Sparrow, a first for this station. also netted: Black-capped Chickadee -recapture 1Dark-eyed Junco 1 + other forms: Slate-colored 1; Oregon 4; Pink-sided 1Golden-crowned Kinglet 1Gambel's White-crowned Sparrow 45 + 10 recapturesLazuli Bunting 1Lincoln's Sparrow 1Orange-crowned Warbler 1Ruby-crowned Kinglet 2Song Sparrow 2 + recaptures 2Spotted Towhee 1Swamp Sparrow 111 Species, 62 new bands and 13 recaps (from earlier this Fall) for a total of 75 birds handledDavid Elwonger, who roosts at 8400' near Woodland Park Colorado*Clear Springs Ranch (previously known as Colorado Springs State Wildlife Area) is in El Paso county about 5 miles south of Fountain CO (east of Interstate 25 across from the Nixon Power plant).
