Folks,

I arrived at the Prairie Loop this morning around 9:45. The Ross's Gull was
close to shore, straight out from the bird observation area. Close to shore is
relative, since there is now a 50 ft. wide ice shelf on the south side. I
watched the bird for a couple of minutes as it circled low and flew east along
the shoreline. I stayed on the south shore for the next 3 hours, along with
several other birders. The Ross's Gull was not seen. I spoke to Jim Beatty
who stayed at Cherry Creek until dark, and as far as we know the bird had not
been re-found.
