Folks, As Rachel indicated, there is a 1st cycle Kumlien's Iceland Gull at Cherry Creek. I found the bird in the water near the marina, actively feeding and sparing with Herring Gulls. The bird looks perfect to me for Iceland Gull, smaller than Herring Gull with a smaller head and bill. Pale tan overall with very slightly darker primaries and tail band and patterned tertials. The bird is putting on a good show from the west fisherman's pier.
Also, I saw what I am pretty sure are 2 different adult Mew Gulls. One is darker with much more head streaking than the bird that has been there for weeks. An adult lesser Black-baked Gull was seen on the ice on the west side. There are hundreds of gulls. There may be other goodies that I did not see. Ice is limited to the shallow edges and out from the swim beach.
