Bent County:
--At John Martin on January 3, Leatherman reported 2 GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULLS 
(1 ad, 1 1-st cyc), 1 m Barrow's Goldeneye, and a sleeping swan.
  
Boulder County:
--An ad TUNDRA SWAN was reported by Gent at the Valmont Power Plant on November 
25 and was seen again by Gent on January 1.
--A Black Scoter was reported by Gent at the Valmont Power Plant on January 1.
--An ad Glaucous Gull was reported by Gent at Prince Lake #1 on January 1.
--A Harris's Sparrow has been visiting the yard of Alex Brown in Boulder.  If 
birders want to try for the bird, Alex recommends try looking on the east side 
of the house over the wooden fence or from the bottom (south two houses west of 
where Viele Ditch runs under S. 46th St.  The sparrow spends a fair amount of 
time in the big pine tree at the bottom of the yard.  The address is 4560 
Darley Ave (south side of Darley, 2 houses west of S. 46th).  
--The imm GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW continues at the Juniper windbreak at the 
Teller Farm parking lot as reported by Severs on January 1 and was seen again 
on January 3 by Partin.
 
Chaffee County:
--150 Rosy-Finches with all 3 species were reported by Kalbach in Granite on 
January 1.
 
Delta County:
--A Tundra Swan was reported by Cooper at Confluence Park in Delta on January 3.
 
Douglas County:
--An American Three-toed Woodpecker was reported by Bunker near Hwy 67 and 
Rampart Range Road on December 31.
--A first winter Harris's Sparrow was reported by Henwood on the Douglas County 
CBC on January 2 in a cemetery near the intersection of Hwy 105 (North Perry 
Park Road) and W Pine Cliff Ave.
 
Douglas/Jefferson Counties:
--On the Denver CBC on December 18, Kellner reported Thayer's Gull, Glaucous 
Gull, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Winter Wren, and Rusty Blackbird at Chatfield 
State Park.  On December 26, Kellner reported 2 1st-cyc Glaucous Gulls, a f 
Long-tailed Duck, and imm Red-necked Grebe.  On December 27, Tina Jones 
reported 1 Glaucous Gull, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, and 1 Long-tailed Duck 
and Chavez reported Winter Wren at Chatfield.  On January 1, Teuton reported a 
Lapland Longspur at the Model Airplane Field and Thayer's Gull, Glaucous Gull 
and Red-necked Grebe at Chatfield.
 
El Paso County:
--On December 4, Dan Maynard reported the following birds at the north end of 
Fountain Creek Regional Park south of the sewage ponds:  male PINE WARBLER, 
Winter Wren, "red" Fox Sparrow, and Ovenbird.  An ad Harris's Sparrow was 
reported by Dan Maynard near Rice's Pond on December 4.   On December 28, Koehn 
refound the PINE WARBLER and 2 Harris's Sparrows and Kosar refound the Ovenbird 
at Fountain Creek.  On January 1, Chartier refound the PINE WARBLER and 1 
Harris's Sparrow
at Fountain Creek.
 
Garfield County:
--2 Long-tailed Ducks were reported by Dahl at Rifle Gap Reservoir on December 
31.
 
Huerfano County:
--An imm Harris's Sparrow and 2 White-winged Dove visited the Nelder yard in La 
Veta on December 31 and again on January 2. Their address is 151 County Road 
359.
--All 3 species of Rosy-Finches (including Hepburn's), White-throated Sparrow, 
and White-winged Doves have visited the yard of Beverly Jensen in La Veta on 
January 1.  If you would like to try to see these birds, call her at 
719-989-1398.
--A Swan was reported at Lathrop State Park by Nelder on January 3.
 
Jefferson County: 
--On January 2, Gent reported Curve-billed Thrasher, White-throated Sparrow, 
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW, and Harris's Sparrow and Black Rosy-Finch at Red Rocks 
Trading Post.  On January 1, Burt reported a Winter Wren at the West Corner of 
the Trading Post building.
 
Mesa County:
--A flock of about 400 Rosy-Finches was reported by Jacob Cooper on January 1.  
The flock was on V Road west of Collbran and included all 3 species with
over half being Black.  
 
Moffat County:
--3 Snow Buntings were reported by Luke on CR 4 at mile marker 2.4 on December 
29.  They were with a flock of Horned Larks.
 
Prowers County:
--A Carolina Wren was reported by Leatherman at the south end of Lamar 
Community College Woods on December 30.
--Lapland Longspurs were reported by Leatherman east of Lamar between the Truck 
Bypass & Rd SS and between Rd 10 and Rd 18 on December 28.
--A White-winged Dove was reported by Leatherman by Tree-of-Heaven on the nw 
corner of S 1st St and Walnut in Lamar on December 28.
 
Pueblo County:
--A PACIFIC WREN was found by Dan Maynard on the Pueblo Reservoir CBC on 
December 18.  On December 27 Percival refound the PACIFIC WREN downstream from 
the footbridge below Pueblo City Park on the north side of the Arkansas River.  
On December 28, Duane Nelson heard the PACIFIC WREN on the south side of the 
river.  On December 29 Chartier and Lee refound the PACIFIC WREN on the north 
side of the river.
--At the South Shore Marina tires of Pueblo Reservoir, Hurtado reported 2 
Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 1 ad GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL and a possible imm 
Glaucous Gull.
 
Teller County:
--Gray-crowned and 1 Black-Rosy-Finch were reported by Jeff Jones in Divide in 
a private yard on December 27.  The owners have given permission for
birders to view the feeders from the road in your car.  Park on Joshua Road and 
look west.  On December 29. Goff reported Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches in Divide 
at the end of Allison Place. 
  
The DFO field trip for Saturday, January 8 will be to the Longmont Area led by 
Chris Owens (303-772-6048).  Meet at 0830 at Jim Hamm Nature center.  Form I-25 
take Exit 240.  Go west 4 miles on CO 119 to Boulder/Weld County Line Road, 
then 2 miles north to park on left at E 17th  Ave.  Bring lunch as trip will 
end about 1 or 2 pm depending on weather and birds.  State parks Pass may be 
needed.
 
The DFO field trip for Sunday, January 9, will be to the Wheatridge Greenbelt 
led by Toni Rautus (303-442-7322).  Meet at 0900 at Prospect Lake north parking 
lot.  To reach the lake go south off 44th Ave in Wheatridge between Quail and 
Robb Streets.   1/2 day trip.  Lunch optional.
