RMBO is Currently Recruiting for Our Volunteer Naturalist Program!
Are you interested in environmental education? Do you enjoy working with
kids in the outdoors? If so, then we have the perfect opportunity for you.
The Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory is currently recruiting for our RMBO
Naturalist Program! No experience in the fields of environmental education or
ornithology is needed in order to become a naturalist with our program. We
are looking for individuals who are passionate about education and the
outdoors to join our team of highly-skilled volunteers.
RMBO Naturalist Program:
As an RMBO Naturalist, you will be a key element in Rocky Mountain Bird
Observatory's education programs. Our programs help instill a conservation
ethic in Colorado citizens of all ages by providing interactive learning
experiences using birds as the "hook." You will be able to take the lead with
our in-class programs, field trips and educational outreach events in the
Denver Metro area which teach all audiences about the importance of bird
conservation.
If accepted into the Naturalist program, you will receive approximately 40
hours of classroom and in-the-field training sessions.
These sessions include:
* basic ecology and ornithology
* teaching techniques, program structuring and public speaking tips
* field trips to education sites
* opportunities to practice the skills and information acquiredYou will
also receive continuing education sessions throughout the year to update and
expand your knowledge and skills.

Again, no experience is required to become an RMBO Naturalist. However,
candidates must demonstrate a willingness and ability to recognize and
embrace teachable moments, to lead students using interactive techniques and
open-ended questioning, and enjoy working with people of all ages.

Benefits:
* Enhance your knowledge of the natural world through initial training and
continuing education opportunities.
* Gain a valuable and rewarding volunteer experience.
* Be part of a community that cares about the environment and inspires
others to appreciate it.

information, please contact Abby Churchill, RMBO's Volunteer Coordinator,
