Hi all, I got in big trouble the last time I countered someone's identification of a bird as a male instead of female, so I'll tread lightly here, but isn't the Longmont Tufted Duck a female instead of the reported immature male? All of my field guides indicate that immature male Tufted should look more similar to adult males - that is with grayish white sides and a black back - than to the brown females.
If I'm missing something, please correct me. good birding, Doug Faulkner -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
