Well, we got some snow and the Rosies are here! As I stocked the
feeders and scattered some on the ground (there goes another 25# of
seed), they came circling. They do that, and fly a lot like
starlings...but they sound much sweeter.

When I looked up, there were a couple hundred in flight...but it is
early and I have to leave for work in 15 minutes. More may come
later...especially in that we are supposed to have snow off and on for
the next week.

Of late, I have had as many as 75 Evening Grosbeak on the ground here
(also more likely right after a storm, though some are usually here
all year), more Cassin's Finches than I've ever seen...plus all the
regulars. I believe a Tree Sparrow and a young White-crowned Sparrow
are also visiting. And of course the White-winged Dove or two.

Come on in, if you've been here before...PLEASE do not let Zeus out!

If you've not been here before, please call me: 719-989-1398. No
reception in the hospital where I work, but I'll check msgs on break.
Also, I can't get e-mail at work but I'll check daily after work.
More snow this weekend; I'm betting there's a 99% chance of Rosies
this weekend, too.
