The number and variety of ducks at the large gravel pond south of Hwy 119
between Weld Co. road 7 and the St Vrain River was down some from Wednesday
when we checked Friday afternoon. Still a lot of ducks and more geese but no
Tufted Duck. There was a little open water on ponds 1 and 2 at Golden Ponds
but 1 goldeneye was the only bird there besides the Mallards, geese, coots and
Ring-billed Gulls. Bill and Inez Prather, Longmont
