Hi folks-- Two mature bald eagles have been in the general vicinity of Lagerman Res for over 3 weeks now. I am curious whether they are nesting anywhere nearby. Does anyone know (BCNA raptor watchers)? Seems like the new nests I know of are all pretty far away from this particular area (more than 3 miles).
There was a magnificent golden eagle on N. 55th (Ouray) two days ago that had the palest head I've ever seen. I thought it was a bald at first. At Rabbit Mtn yesterday, in honor of Glenn C's birthday (and Dr Seuss), there were bushtits & other tits, 4 mountain bluebirds, and a northern shrike. The latter has been there for each of my visits over the past few weeks (but always at a different spot). We saw no spring flowers or butterflies; darn. Carol Cushman reports that she and Glenn saw an osprey yesterday at 75th & St. Vrain; and they have a 2nd yr BA eagle in their back yard near Teller Farms with some frequency, as well as an agitated great-horned owl (meaning: without spouse). Happy hunting to all. Linda A mile north of Haystack MTn -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
