Headed to Hygiene for a little birding this morning. Along 61st/63rd near the bridge over the St. Vrain, found an adult Harris's Sparrow to go with the numerous American Robins, Red-Winged Blackbirds and Black- Capped Chickadees.
Found the Harlan's Hawk again along Hygiene Road, just east of 61st. Along Crane Hollow Road, there is a colony of at least 6 active Great- Blue Heron nests. I suspect that two others are active as well as there were GBHs perched nearby. [If you search "Crane Hollow Road, Hygiene, CO" the flag will show the closest spot to the nests, which are in the tops of the Cottonwoods just NE of that spot.] Rudi Nuissl Broomfield, CO http://www.flickr.com/photos/rudi_noodle/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
