Hi All,

Stopped by Red Rocks around the noon hour. On the back side of Ship Rock our group saw the pair of Prairie Falcons displaying courtship behavior - one bird would sit on a ledge in a flattened out nest (used last year by a pair of Ravens), then the other bird would sweep in to the ledge and the bird in the nest would fly out. At times both birds would be on the ledge together, sometimes with one in the nest, other times with one bird sitting on the edge of the nest and the other bird back behind the nest. Other times the two falcons would fly out and then land next to each other on one of the high rocks. Appeared the ledge with last year's Raven nest might be the Prairie Falcon's nesting ledge this year. We saw the pair of Ravens land together on a new nest on the left hand side of Ship Rock about half way up.

At the Red Rocks feeders Brian and Michelle from Texas reported they had seen the Curve-billed Thrasher, Harris's Sparrow, White-throated Sparrow, and White-winged Junco, but were still waiting for the Golden- crowned Sparrow to appear.

I will be out of town this week, so bring seed if you plan to come to the Red Rocks feeders.
