COBirders, Admittedly, I have been visiting the Garden of the Gods almost daily in the past two weeks hoping for returing swifts. This morning there was a high-flying silent White-throated Swift pair above Gateway Roks.A pair of Juniper Titmice have returned to the same area but they can be notoriously difficult to find. They have been foraging on Rocky Mountain juniper seeds that are on the grouind underneath the junipers. A Canyon Wren has been singing between north and south gateway rocks. At Chico Basin Ranch (fee area) tons of Mountain Bluebirds are on the move in both El Paso and Pueblo counties and at least 20 Sage Thrashers (one singing) were in the the cholla grasslands in both counties yesterday.
